Les Étoiles de Mougins - a feast for the senses

This weekend will see the village of Mougins transformed into a gastronomic gathering of all things foodie for the 6th International Gastronomy Festival. 100 chefs from all over the world will converge upon Mougins to showcase their talent and passion for gastronomic creation, including celebrated local chefs from Cannes, Monaco, Vence and Mougins as well as some of the biggest international names in haute cuisine. 25 nationalities will be represented including, for the first time this year, chefs from Finland and Israel.

The programme includes competitions for amateur chefs and a professional sommelier competition, both of which will run over two days from 17th to 18th September. The weekend is also interactive, with a suite of chef-led demonstrations, tastings and workshops to take part in, costing between €5 and €15 per slot. There are three themes this year: food and champagne pairing, Italian produce and the art of Risotto. Book online now to avoid disappointment.

Les Étoiles de Mougins 2011

Don't worry if you miss your chance at some of these demos and workshops, as there are plenty of other free gastro treats on offer including a spice centre; the festival library, where you could meet chefs face to face; a street food corner; a cocktail pavilion; a taste trail, where a parade of traiteurs exhibit their produce; an area hosted by the prestigious Lenôtre; Windmill World, dedicated to the art of Boulangerie; workshops for kids and many more exhibitions and stalls, making this a great day out for all the family.

The festival opens on 16th September at 16h30 and runs until 18th September 2011 from 10h30 to 19h30. Entry is free.
