Rado Plage a Good Bet on the Croisette

Rado Plage gets less attention than other beach restaurants along Croisette in Cannes but it's well worth a visit. Like many of the best Cote d'Azur restaurants, Rado Plage has been in the same family for over 50 years. Even the waiters are ‘old hands', making for a happy, well run establishment. Situated between the Carlton and Martinez, it has distinctive leopard skin décor and comfortable easy chairs from which you can relax and enjoy the excellent service.

Fish, of course, is the speciality. The fillet of sole is first class, as are the prawns but Rado Plage is not just about sea food. The filet of beef is also exquisite, especially when washed down with a decent Pomerol from the wine list.

Rado Plage Restaurant

Beach front restaurants in Cannes are never cheap but Rado Plage is good value when compared to Vegaluna or the Martinez. The restaurant is very popular, especially during the big Cannes festivals, with regulars choosing it over more convenient locations, closer to the Palais. Festival people don't usually like walking , so that's a recommendation in itself!

Just off the main thoroughfare of Biot, through an archway on the left as you enter this pretty village, is Café Brun.

These days there are celebrity TV chefs everywhere: Nigella Lawson, Keith Floyd (RIP), or Gordon Ramsay.

Looking for a way to spice up your evening? Longing for a great curry but don't know where to go?
