High flying Eagles over Monaco

The day before they were going to become husband and wife during a civil ceremony, Prince Albert and his beautiful South African fiancée, joined 15,000 of their subjects, Monaco residents and a few of those left working in the Principality to cheer legendary rock band, the Eagles, at the Louis II stadium.
Formed in 1971 in Los Angeles, the band have sold more than 120 million albums worldwide, scored six No. 1 albums, been awarded six Grammy Awards, and still continue to perform to sell-out crowds all around the globe. The concert, which was free, was the start of three days of celebrations in the Principality.

It was the couple's first public appearance since a French newspaper claimed earlier in the week that the 33-year old blonde athlete had second thoughts about their impending nuptials. But on this Thursday, the 30th of June, Albert and Charlene put the rumours to rest as they appeared very relaxed and happy. The Prince wore a dark jacket while the bride showed off her toned body in a strapless black top, skinny black jeans and embellished heels, with a necklace that appeared to be from her native South Africa. Also from Charlene's homeland was pop-rock star, Jason Hartman who was the opening act.
If a majority of the attendees were not familiar with most of the Eagles songs, the seventies band soon had the crowd, including the bride and groom, on their feet, ten minutes into the concert when they played their standout hit Hotel California. Then, for two hours, came many chart toppers such as 'Desperado', 'Take it easy', 'The Boys of Summer' or 'Love will keep us alive', which the band dedicated to their good friend, Albert II.
The Eagles also presented the couple with an autographed guitar as a wedding gift just before they hit the stage. It was a lovely night to start a long weekend of festivities that should go down in history.
