Good News for Biot Bikers for 2012!

City Motion, a company that currently markets electric scooters assembled in Asia under the Electric'City brand, will be producing 300 ARTELEC electric scooters as of this coming January, from their design office and assembly plant based in Biot, according to a recent report on the Invest in Côte d'Azur website.

The company, Electric'City, was founded in Nice by Christophe Cornillon, Antoine Cirier and Matthieu Herbert and designs and manufactures two-wheeled 125cc electric vehicles. In 2010, the company signed an exclusive agreement with Nipponia, a European manufacturer of thermal scooters, which allows it to develop an electric scooter equivalent to 125cc based on the chassis and shell of the ARTE scooter by the same company.

Production and marketing is scheduled for Spring 2012 and pre-orders will be taken from March. The company is taking advantage of innovation assistance from OSEO to develop an innovative energy recovery technology which will help to increase the battery range by approximately 25%. Further information is available on the Electric'city website.
