Upcoming Monaco Premiere of BOY to Benefit Initiatives in Ethiopia

It's 1984, and Michael Jackson is king - even in Waihau Bay, New Zealand. Here we meet Boy, an 11-year-old who lives on a farm with his grandma, a goat, and his younger brother, Rocky (who thinks he has magic powers). Shortly after Grandma leaves for a week, Boy's father, Alamein, appears out of the blue. Having imagined a heroic version of his father during his absence, Boy comes face to face with the real version - an incompetent hoodlum who has returned to find a bag of money he buried years before. This is where the goat enters.
Monaco le Film and The International Emerging Film Talent Association of Monaco (IEFTA) proudly present the Monaco premiere of 'BOY', directed by Oscar Nominee, Taika Waititi, to be screened on Tuesday, 7th February, 2012, at Les Terrasses du Parking du Chemin des Pêcheurs (below the Oceanographic Museum).

The movie won Best film at AFI Fest, Berlin International Film Festival, Melbourne International Film Festival, Sydney International Film Festival and was nominated for Asia Pacific Screen Awards and Best film at Sundance.
Tickets cost €40 for adults and €20 for children under 16. Proceeds from the evening benefit the IEFTA's Global Film Expression (GFE) initiative in Ethiopia. Join the organisers for drinks and a dinatoire from 18h30, followed at 19h00 by the screening of the award-winning musical comedy and a question and answer session with director Taika Waititi.
