No Finish Line - Go On, Do Your Bit for Charity!

No Finish Line is an annual charity event which sees thousands of participants running, jogging or walking around a 900m/1600m circuit in Port Hercule, Monaco, in order to raise money for charity. This year's event runs from 14th to 22nd November.

For each kilometer completed, Monaco, under the patronage of SAS Princesse Stephanie, will donate €1.10 to the Children & Future charity, which helps under-privileged and sick children.

Each participant pays a small entrance fee and receives an electronic chip which collects data on how many kilometers the participant has completed. The circuit is open 24 hours a day for 8 days, meaning that participants can take part before work, in their lunch hour, or even throughout the night. Participants can use the circuit as much as they wish during the 8 days.

In 2008 4,484 people took part, covering a distance of 115,298 km, and raising €115,298 for charity. In 2009 the donation has been increased from €1 to €1.10. This year the proceeds will be used to help 3 causes:

Centre Cardio Thoracique, Monaco – each year the CCT takes part in treating patients put forward by humanitarian causes by offering medical expertise and technical equipment which are rare or non-existent in many countries, in order to operate on young children afflicted by cardio-abnormalities.

Service de Cardiologie, Mauritania – a contribution will be made to assist in the installation of equipment on operating rooms, and the construction of a sterilization room.

Fight Aids. The charity, presided over by SAS Princesse Stephanie, will receive a contribution to assist in the financing of a home in Carpentras for young people suffering from AIDS.

So, go on, get off the sofa and do something for under-priveleged and sick kids!
