News and blogs from FR2DAY insiders and other local skiers who know what is happening in the Riviera resorts

There are 18 ski stations in the Alpes Maritimes region - that's a lot of skiing, as well as snow boarding, cross country skiing and a host of other winter activities. You need good practical guidance, but sometimes the best tips come from other skiers. FR2DAY want you to be part of our ski community and we can even post your photos or 'Twitter' entries to make sure we are right up to the minute and that everything you need to know is 'child's play!
Give us your news about recent snowfalls, good access roads or new resort facilities. Perhaps you've eaten somewhere special or got a particularly good deal on some equipment - we want to know! Or maybe you're looking to share accommodation or even a ride into the mountains - car pools are good for the environment, let's get some going! All you have to do is post a message below on our 'Ski-Club' message board!

Last weekend - the parking lot at La Colmiane was fit to bursting - a great day out even under greyish skies and a huge amount of cars zipping up the Tinee to Isola2000/Auron - plenty of snow - get out there!!
Isola 2000 closed due to avalanche risk. Trophee Andros has been postponed
January 7 - Isola2000 and Auron now back to normal! and the skies are blue.
January 6 - latest news from Auron/Isola2000 - repairs to electricity still in hand - only part of the domaines open - BUT access to these is FREE - check before you go.....but sounds good to me!
Jan 5 2010 - note NO ski lifts running in ISOLA2000 nor AURON today due to power failures - check the facebook page stations du mercantour for new - or the websites.
Skis & Wigs - Arosa Gay Ski Week Back January 2010 - From the 9th – 16th January 2010 the international Gay ski Week returns to Arosa in Switzerland. As always it’s all stops out for an array of events to support the more obvious winter pursuits of skiing and snowboarding.
There’s a daily Apres-ski cocktail party, games and sunbathing on the Tschuggenhutte and in the evening the much loved Cabaret show, Foam Party, White Party and Secret Pool Party.

Any good stories out the ski front?...certainly cold enough.....
Morning all....it's SO exciting to have blue skies and lots of snow....the resorts are cranking up ....and while we are more keen on snowshoeing out off piste...don't forget the resort of La Colmiane - sandwiched between the Vesubie and Tinee valleys - and 75 mins from Nice....small but perfectly formed...more of that later!!
You can take advantage of the “roll it into one package price” deal and enjoy three days of skiing and two nights in a hotel (half board) for just €146. See their website www.isola2000.com - There are also some 20% off discount deals.
ISOLA FIRST WEEKEND - And so it begins! First reports from those "in the know" suggest that the first snow experience of the season was a good one. Thanks to a dump of good quality snow last Thursday night, Isola2000 was delighted to be able to open its doors to ski fans who had dragged themselves out of bed to enjoy that sensation of being first out amongst it. The weekend passed without any mechanical hitches any where in the station, a fantastic start to a season which promises to be as exciting as 2008/09. The good news keeps coming with the opening of a new lift, planned for this weekend on the Genisserie secteur, plus the promise of Auron and perhaps Valberg opening...watch this space...
