BY fr2day FOR FR2DAY.COM Feb 17, 2012
Now in its 79th year, Menton once again hosts its annual Fête du Citron, nearly three weeks given over to celebrating all that is good about the lemon and other citrus fruits. The festival continues to wow its visitors with all its attractions and traditionally attracts more than 250,000 people during the course of the event.
This year's festival takes place from Friday, 17th of February to Wednesday, 7th of March, and the theme is 'Menton accueille les régions de France'. It promises to be yet another success for the town.

There will be a number of parades and spectacles during the festival - look out for the "Corsos des fruits d'or" which take place on Sundays at 2:30pm on the Promenade du Soleil, the evening time parades with firework displays and "Les Jardins de lumière" in the jardins Biovès, with magnificent lighting displays, guaranteed to thrill all ages. Don't forget to take in the Orchid show at the Palais de l'Europe, or other special events organised by the Menton Tourist Office.
Tickets are available online and further information about the programme of events is available on the festival website. So, lemon-lovers, see you in Menton in the coming weeks!
