A mini pub crawl around the bars of Antibes
Forget New Year Resolutions! Start 2010 with a good old fashioned pub crawl! Antibes is the place, and here are a few of the bars waiting to welcome you and help you forget the January blues.
The Hop Store
Popular with both tourists and locals alike, this pub is similar to the Irish style Morrison's in Cannes. A wooden and spacious interior, complete with extensive seating both inside and out - get there early because this place fills up very quickly.
As well as being a popular watering hole, The Hop Store is a favourite spot for people to watch international football and rugby matches - shown in their large satellite TV room. Local bands also play on a regular basis.

Absinthe Bar
Situated in a cave, this atmospheric bar is as unique in character as the drinks sold here. Antiques cover the stone walls while guests sit around small tables enjoying a variety of absinthes. Water-filled containers are used to dilute the strong alcoholic drink (renowned for causing drinkers to hallucinate), and sugar cubes helps sweeten the taste. Overall, drinking absinthe with friends in a cave is a fun way to get drunk but you might want to check out FR2DAY's handy hangover hints before you head out for the night! You will probably be gald you did in the morning.

Le Happy Face
This bar has always been a meeting place for locals, but is now popular with ex-pats as well. Modern and well-priced, this modern bar can get crowded - especially when live bands play in the small room downstairs. On normal nights, house and dance music is played for the enjoyment of drinkers.

Le Latino
Just down from The Hop Store, Le Latino is widely considered a great place to hang out with pals. The drinks are reasonably priced, there's live music in the shape of bongos, bands and singers, and a covered outside area which allows people to enjoy being ‘dehors' without the worry of rain or wind. Food is served here but it is definitely more of a drinking venue than somewhere to grab dinner.

Bar de la Tour International
Located just next to the undercover market, this typically French bar is popular with locals. Inside, the place is cosy and inviting, while outside seating spills into the market area - giving the place a real cosmopolitan feel. Happy hour tends to change regularly so check the times to ensure you get the best deals on your drinks.
