Brazilian born designer and "Queen of the crisp white shirt" Anne Fontaine has just released her 2011 Autumn/Winter collection in Cannes. Stylishly on show in her chic boutique superbly situated on the Croisette, FR2DAY was there to bring you the latest on this intriguing and revolutionary designer's range!

Growing up in Rio De Janeiro, Anne was always making her own clothes, she was passionate about protecting the environment, loved adventure and travelled across Brazil where she lived for several months in the Amazon with an Indian tribe. They taught her their customs, respect for nature and its virtues which also fuelled her frenzy for natural fabrics and fibres. Anne's French father then encouraged her to go and discover his home country of France where she met her future husband in Monaco, Ari Zlotkin.
Anne's new adventure with fashion started in 1993 when finding the solution to helping her husband's family business of Haute Couture sub-contractors. At a mere 22 years old her idea would completely change the course of her life. "What woman doesn't have a white shirt in her wardrobe" says Anne, the first collection was born and simply named "Anne Fontaine" along with the very first boutique in Saint-Germain-des-Prés in 1994. Anne literally revised the classic "white shirt" with style, cut and elegant designs, using noble materials such as poplin, twilled cotton, organdie and linen along with removable collars and cuffs all beautifully displayed in her now 80 contemporary boutiques across the globe.
Anne Fontaine accessories, bags, belts, gloves, jewellery and sunglasses are a fabulous addition to her ever changing collections.
Autumn/Winter 2011 is a refined collection of neoclassical accents, soft nuances of warm grey and antique rose blended with black and white. A stylish tribute to cinema and the tones of classic film, a collection entitled "A Man and a Woman" bringing us back to full wardrobe mixing the classical masculine and feminine codes.
