Soulful Jazz Singer Lizzy Parks Raises the Roof on the French Riviera

At 29, Devon born singer song writer and self proclaimed 'jazzy lassy' Lizzy Parks already has 3 albums under her belt. There's a fourth on the way which promises to show another facet of her musical style. Signed to UK record label Tru Thoughts Lizzy Parks moved to Cannes in July 2009 to live with her French 'beau' and is set for musical success on the French Riviera.
Singing, writing and playing music from the age of 7, Lizzy Parks took her love of music to another level when she graduated from the Birmingham Conservatoire with an honours degree in music in 2003. Lizzy played in pubs and clubs for several years and had her first experience of session work while still at university in 2001 with artist Chris Bowden - signed to the über cool Ninja Tune record label. Eight years and three fantastic albums later, Lizzy Parks has performed with some of the biggest names in UK Soul Jazz such as The Heritage Orchestra and Nostalgia77.
Lizzy is mostly gigging in the UK for the moment, as well as preparing her fourth album, due for release in 2010. But she's also aiming to make her mark on the French music industry, following her move to the French Riviera earlier this year. In an exclusive interview with FR2DAY, Lizzy describes how she was "surprised to find out that France is Tru Thoughts' biggest market in terms of record sales" and that she is "looking forward to being more involved in the French scene and learning about French audiences". We at FR2DAY are certainly big fans of Lizzy's music and can't wait to see her in some South of France venues in the very near future.

Lizzy's next gig will be at at the Vibe Bar in London's Brick Lane on Saturday 5th December 2009.
Lizzy will be performing at the legendary Tru Thoughts showcase night at SUN7 bar in Cannes during the MIDEM music conference on Monday 25 January 2010.
