The Cranberries appearing at the Palais Nikaïa

The Cranberries, recently re-united after a 6 year break, will be playing Nice's Palais Nikaïa on Friday 18th June (rescheduled from last April), as part of a 29-date European tour. The Cranberries first achieved international commercial success in the early 90's with their debut album "Everybody Else Is Doing It, So Why Can't We?" The Irish band, whose style is mainly alternative rock, with a twist of Irish folk, subsequently went on to sell more than 43 million albums worldwide.
The Cranberries, originally formed in Limerick in 1989, decided to take a break in 2003 to enable individual members time to pursue solo careers after 12 years of relentless touring. In January 2009, three members of the band played a one-off gig at Dublin's Trinity College, and realised that they had missed being with each other and playing music together....fast forward to August 2009, when they announced that they would be getting together again for a live tour, followed by a new album.
The band has penned some new songs, and will be performing these together with The Cranberries classics on the tour, plus some songs from vocalist Delores O'Riordon's solo album. During the 6-year break Dolores has released two solo albums - Are You Listening? in 2007 and No Baggage in 2009.

The Cranberries recent tour of North America received great reviews, with critics commenting that the 6 year break seems to have injected new life into their music.
