Woody Allen is opening the Cannes Film Festival with new movie Midnight in Paris

Woody ALLEN is once more on La Croisette with his new movie "Midnight in Paris" starring Marion Cotillard, Rachel McAdams, Owen Wilson and Carla Bruni-Sarkozy. To date, he's attended the movie festival more than any other actor/director ever and is yet to receive his first award!
Although his movie "You Will Meet a Tall Dark Stranger" wasn't that well-received last year, he kept his sense of humour regardless - during his press conference he said "well you know my opinion about death...it hasn't changed... I'm strongly against it!"

But as one of our favourite directors, has he lost his touch over recent years? Whilst perhaps "Match Point" and the critically acclaimed "Vicky Cristina Barcelona" in 2008 made us believe that he was back to form, his last releases have perhaps proven otherwise.
New York remains Woody's favourite backdrop, but he has always dreamt of filming in other cosmpolitan locations, and now that he has filmed in Barcelona, he has finally set down his camera in Paris. The story that he will tell is a romantic comedy about a family travelling to the French capital for business, and it is while they are here, that a young engaged couple are forced to confront the illusion that a life different from their own is a better one!
Here's hoping that this time the famous movie maker Allen is back with a vengeance!
