Cannes Film Festival: Some of the Best Remembered Red Carpet Style moments!

As the film industry's most anticipated fortnight (12th - 23rd May) draws closer, stars and fashion designers around the world are getting ready for the red carpet catwalk - and trying not to get it wrong! Because when it comes to the Cannes Film Festival, it's impossible to escape the 'world's camera lense', eager to snap celebrity fashion triumphs and faux-pas!
Fashion and trends have come a long way since the classic age of Grace Kelly - roughly the time she went from being a Hollywood actress to Monaco Princess. Her iconic elegance is currently being showcased at London's Victoria and Albert Museum.
Last year the Croisette resembled a rainbow, and this year fashion experts say it'll be all about colour again. But before we 'lick our lips', let's have a quick glance back through the glitz and glamour of previous years, caught by paparazzi in Cannes - the world's greatest film festival!
1. Desperate Housewife looking like storybook princess. Eva Longoria Parker put on her best L'oreal face, and upped the style stakes with this particularly eye-catching glittery grey Atelier Versace creation. Seen here arriving at 'The Bright Star' Premiere in 2009.
2. No red carpet catwalk would be complete without our favourite American heiress Paris Hilton She sported a "cadeau"-style dress with trademark headband in 2009. We think the designer may have been quite indecisive when making the rocker belt/pleated fan/I have extra tulle - I certainly don't know what to do with type of dress!
3. Aussi actress Cate Blanchett wowed us all with her elegant Armani Prive gown at the premiere of Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of The Crystal Skull in 2008. Despite the fact that she gave birth to her 3rd child only a month before - no sign of her post baby figure in this picture!
4. No one can make pregnancy look hotter than this "vision in green". It's the then-expectant Angelina Jolie, wearing Max Azria with Brad Pitt in a Tom Ford tux (need I say more?). She's at the premiere of Kung Fu Panda in 2008. Perhaps she'll pull this one out of the wardrobe again and head for this year's Cannes opener, 'Robin Hood'!
