A pony-tailed seventy-six year old German prancing around in dark glasses may not be your idea of the prophet from 'style central' - but when his name is Karl Lagerfeld you have to take a second look. The celebrated fashion designer and artist will be presenting his 2010 Chanel Cruise Collection in St Tropez and there's already a scramble for tickets.

No less luminaries than Prince and Vanessa Paradis are expected to be guests of honour and a host of lesser celebs, including the ever-diminishing Lily Allen, will be there to take in the Lagerfeld magic. Mere mortals can watch the 30 minute cat walk on huge screens to be erected on the place des Lices.

Don't expect to see a flesh fest - Lagerfeld is keen to keep his event strictly ‘high-end'. Do expect to see stunning Chanel creations that will doubtless infuse high street fashion ranges for months to come - buoyed by the numerous A-listers who just love to wear House of Chanel garments.

There will be a dinner on May 10th in honour of the pony-tailed one, before the show on May 11th. Expect the rich, the beautiful and the press to overrun St Tropez.
