Ski in Limone; Just Ninety Minutes from Monaco and the French Riviera

Rumour has it that Limone Piemonte offers great skiing at much cheaper prices than in France. It is a lovely run up the Roya valley, (don't forget to drop into Airole for a bite to eat one day, and to the fab Merveilles museum in Tende), through the tunnel and then ploof down into Limone via "Pinocchio-ville"!

We paid a lot of money for a "demie" in the middle of the town but we're sure that there's some great eating to be had in Limone - it is easy to get to, has a magnificent array of North facing slopes, plus all the big big plusses of Italian food in the evening. The resort has 80 kilometres of runs for down hill freaks plus plenty of other slopes for the off piste wanderers!!

Limone is a little bit further from than most of the Alpes Maritimes resorts but you won't regret the effort, especially if you're looking for something a bit different. This is skiing Italian style; slightly chaotic but very friendly, good for the young ones and great value for money.

You can read the full FR2DAY SKI GUIDE to Limone here next week.
