What's On Round-up - time once again for some Six Nations rugby

Welcome back to another weekly round-up, bringing you a selection of some of the very best things to do on the beautiful French Riviera. We have a varied line up of activities to keep you occupied this weekend and well into the week ahead, so without further ado, sit back, relax, and take it all in!

Our friends in Alonzo King Lines Ballet are back in Cannes on Saturday 4th February for a performance of two ballets, Refraction and Rasa. The performance takes place in the Main Auditorium of the Palais des Festivals at 8:30pm. Tickets range in price from €22 - €28 and are available online.

Fans of Liza Minelli will surely be making their way to the Palais Nikaia in Nice this weekend for 'Cabaret, Le Musical de Broadway', a show entirely in French, courtesy of a troupe of some thirty dancers and performers. The shows are on Saturday 4th February at 3pm and 8pm and 2:30pm on Sunday 5th February. Tickets cost from €29 - €79. [And no, Ms. Minelli is not starring in the show!]

Straight from the heart of Ireland, the Irish Legends will be strutting their stuff at La Palestre in Le Cannet on Sunday afternoon at 4pm. Featuring dancers from the best dance schools in Dublin and Galway, this show is guaranteed to wow! Tickets are available now and cost €36 - €45.

If diamonds are your thing, you may want to check out the exhibition that is currently running in the Museum of Natural History in Nice, entitled 'In Search of the Blue Diamond'. The exhibition is a fascinating voyage into the past: the blue diamond is the symbol of the absolutist monarch, Louis XIV.

For lovers of all things Cocteau, you may want to check out the new Jean Cocteau Museum in Menton which continues to host a temporary exhibition dedicated to Jean Sabrier, a Bordeaux based artist, who gives new perspectives to paintings through art history. It will also give you the opportunity to admire more than 2,000 works from the multi-talented Cocteau.

RBS 6 Nations 2012

On the sporting front, we welcome back the Six Nations rugby tournament. The first weekend's action sees France take on Italy and Scotland facing the English on the Saturday, while Ireland will be seeking revenge for their World Cup defeat when they meet Wales on Sunday in Dublin.

OGC Nice travel to Corsica to face AC Ajaccio at 7pm on Saturday 4th February, while AS Monaco also play away when they meet Angers SCO tonight, Friday 3rd February at 20h20.

So, that's it for this week. Have a great weekend and week ahead and remember to keep checking our Facebook page for your daily slice of French Riviera life!
